The Blessing of Marriage
Allah created us from one soul, Adam. He created Eve from the same material and made them perfect for each other thus creating perfect harmony. He made procreation and interaction between men and women complete and intimate, thus the Prophet saying “There is nothing better for two who love each other than marriage”. Men and women are to sides of the same coin.
This is why marriage is considered one of the important Sunnahs in Islam so for that it completes the person’s religion. Islam Acknowledges the need for intimacy between partners and the strong sexual desires humans have in general. To everything, however, there are boundaries and everything needs to be regulated properly. In Islam, the rules of marriage are set so that the union they have is blessed and sacred all while ensuring the rights of both persons involved are granted.
Indeed, marriage is one of the greatest blessings Allah offered us. Sadly, the practice of marriage and Sunnah in general is becoming more difficult in our time. People are becoming more focused on getting and developing wealth instead of devoting themselves to their marriage. Love for status is becoming more important than loving the spouse when they are married.
Islam is a religion of love, and marriage is the strongest bond joins lovers together. Do not forget the blessing of marriage and always remember to treat your spouse with utmost respect and kindness. “And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought” (Surah Al-Rum: 21)
