Tips to Make Your Honeymoon Truly Unforgettable

Wedding season is in full bloom, and there’s nothing more exciting than the big day except maybe the honeymoon. Karaz’s Shahrazad has put together a few tips to keep in mind when planning your honeymoon to make sure that this is one part of your journey you never, ever forget.

Disappear Together

Before the honeymoon, or better yet—the wedding, take the time to visit all the relatives and do the rounds and formalities so that once you ride off into the sunset together…you’re not thinking about anything else. Make time for family before you say your vows, so that your time is that—YOURS. No texting. No phones. No Facebook.

Plan in Advance

To make sure you get the most out of your honeymoon, make sure you plan in advance. Avoid stress by checking airline rules, hotel deals, travel issues, weather so that you’re not surprised. Don’t forget to call your credit card companies and mobile providers and let them know when and where you’re going to make sure it’s all easy sailing.

Take Your Meds

Nothing is worse than getting sick on your honeymoon. So don’t forget to plan for those “just-in-case” scenarios and pack over-the-counter medications that will help you feel better. Cold medicine, pain killers, allergy meds, nausea relief, anti-diarrhea meds, sunblock, and whatever else you can think of. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Sharing is Caring

Since your “you and me” has now become “we”, start dividing and sharing from the get-go. When packing, make sure that your clothes are divided in both suitcases so that IF one get’s lost…you’re not stuck in the same clothes you’re travelling in.

Be Anti-Social

Forget social media. By all means, yes…do take a camera and capture your moments together. But keep the sharing, posting and updates for AFTER your honeymoon. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience…so make sure you are really there, in the moment. Leave your laptops, tablets and everything else that could be distracting at home. If you absolutely feel like you HAVE to have tech with you, keep your phone on Airplane Mode and only post when you have WiFi.

Get Excited

Not only is this the beginning of your married adventure together, but it is also the start of your sexual adventure. So make seduction, lust and fun the #1 things to do on your list. Bring sexy lingerie, flavored lube, travel candles and whatever else you want to incorporate and explore on your journey together. Also, make sure you make a sexy music list in advance to rev things up, and leave your inhibitions behind you.

Sentiment is Everything

This is going to be an amazing time in your lives and a great way to kick start your marriage. Keep a honeymoon diary to record those special moments. Leave room to make a scrapbook you can have forever, and don’t forget to collect little small souvenirs wherever you go.

Make the Most of it

Leave room to just do whatever, and spend it together lying in bed and enjoying each other. But also, take advantage of the fact that you have a beautiful opportunity in front of you in a new place. So plan at least 1-3 days with ‘honeymoon activities’ from morning to night. This is your chance to pull out all the stops and be romantic. Make memories you will never forget…like an elephant ride, whale watching, dinner on the beach, bungee jumping and more.

And remember…this is YOUR time. Go out there, have fun… be romantic, let go—and live life. Set the tone for what you want your energy to be.
